Trigger Point Therapy

A trigger point is a tight area in the muscle that causes pain in other parts of the body due to how connective tissue spreads throughout the body.  An example of a trigger point would be a client feels pain in the neck, but the tension is actually coming from a certain part of their back. Also, certain trigger points in the hip can relieve pain in the low back. Trigger point therapy is specifically focused on relieving pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. I ask my clients to participate through deep breathing into the area of focus to help release the tension.
